"Indeed, the wasteful are brothers of the devils," meaning: they spent for him, and whoever spends for other than God, God will not accept it, and it is but for Satan.

﴿إِنَّ الْمُبَذِّرِينَ كَانُوا إِخْوَانَ الشَّيَاطِينِ﴾ يَعْنِي أَنْفَقُوا لَهُ وَمِنْ [أَنْفَقَ] لِغَيْرِ اللَّهِ لَا يَقْبَلُهُ اللَّهُ، وَإِنَّمَا هُوَ لشيطان.
