"So appoint a tryst between us and you, which we shall not fail, neither we nor you, at a level place." Mujahid said: This means equidistant.
Muhammad said: This means that the midpoint is between the two places.
﴿فَاجْعَلْ بَيْنَنَا وَبَيْنَكَ مَوْعِدًا لَا نُخْلِفُهُ نَحْنُ وَلا أَنْتَ مَكَانًا سُوًى﴾ قَالَ مُجَاهِدٌ: يَعْنِي: مُنْصَفًا.
قَالَ مُحَمَّدٌ: يَعْنِي: يَكُونُ النِّصْفُ فِيمَا بَيْنَ المكانين.
