"And We did not send before you except men to whom We revealed [the message], so ask the People of the Reminder." Qatada said: He means those who believed from the people of the Torah and the Gospel, "if you do not know," and they do not know.
﴿وَمَا أَرْسَلْنَا قَبْلَكَ إِلا رِجَالا نُوحِي إِلَيْهِمْ فَاسْأَلُوا أَهْلَ الذِّكْرِ﴾ قَالَ قَتَادَةُ: يَعْنِي: مَنْ آمَنَ مِنْ أَهْلِ التَّوْرَاةِ وَالْإِنْجِيلِ ﴿إِنْ كُنْتُم لَا تعلمُونَ﴾ وهم لَا يعلمُونَ
