"Had there been within them"—meaning: within the heavens and the earth—"gods besides Allah"—other than Allah—"they both would have been ruined"—meaning: they would have perished. "Exalted is Allah, Lord of the Throne"—He declares Himself free of imperfection—"from what they describe," meaning: from what they say.
﴿لَو كَانَ فيهمَا﴾ يَعْنِي: فِي السَّمَوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضِ ﴿آلِهَةٌ إِلَّا الله﴾ غير الله ﴿لفسدتا﴾ لَهَلَكَتَا ﴿فَسُبْحَانَ اللَّهِ رَبِّ الْعَرْشِ﴾ ينزه نَفسه ﴿عَمَّا يصفونَ﴾ يَقُولُونَ:
