fused together; and this is the meaning of Al-Hasan's statement. "And We made from water every living thing," meaning: that every living thing was created from water.
مُلْتَحِمًا؛ وَهُوَ مَعْنَى قَوْلِ الْحَسَنِ. ﴿وَجَعَلْنَا مِنَ الْمَاءِ كُلَّ شَيْءٍ حَيّ﴾ أَيْ: أَنَّ كُلَّ شَيْءٍ حَيٍّ فَإِنَّمَا خلق من المَاء.
