"And We made the sky a protected ceiling," over those beneath it, "protected," meaning: from every accursed devil. "And they are of its signs turning away," meaning: they do not reflect upon it—the signs they see—so that they might know they have a resurrection and thus believe.
﴿وَجَعَلنَا السَّمَاء سقفا﴾ على من تحتهَا ﴿مَحْفُوظًا﴾ يَعْنِي: مِنْ كُلِّ شَيْطَانٍ رَجِيمٍ. ﴿وهم عَن آياتها معرضون﴾ أَي: لَا يتفكرون فِيهَا يَرَوْنَ؛ فَيَعْرِفُونَ أَنَّ لَهُمْ مَعَادًا فيؤمنون.
