"And We test you with evil and good" meaning: hardship and ease. "As a trial" meaning: as a test.
Surah Al-Anbiya (from verse 36 to verse 40).
﴿وتبلوكم بِالشَّرِّ وَالْخَيْر﴾ يَعْنِي: الشدَّة والرخاء ﴿فتْنَة﴾ أَي: اختبارا.
