'And for Solomon [We subjected] the wind,' meaning: and We subjected the wind to Solomon, 'blowing fiercely,' such that it would not harm him, 'running by his command toward the land which We have blessed,' meaning: the land of Ash-Sham (the Levant).
﴿ولسليمان الرّيح﴾ أَي: وسخرنا لِسُلَيْمَان الرّيح ﴿عَاصِفَة﴾ لَا تُؤْذِيهِ ﴿تَجْرِي بِأَمْرِهِ إِلَى الأَرْض الَّتِي باركنا فِيهَا﴾ يَعْنِي: أَرض الشَّام.
