"Say, My Lord, judge with the truth" (Al-Anbiya: 112). Al-Hasan said: God commanded him to pray that He grant victory to His allies over His enemies, and God granted him victory over them. "And our Lord is the Most Gracious, the One sought for aid against that which you describe," meaning: that which you falsely claim.
﴿قل رب احكم بِالْحَقِّ﴾ قَالَ الْحَسَنُ: أَمَرَهُ اللَّهُ أَنْ يَدْعُوَ أَنْ يَنْصَرَ أَوْلِيَاءَهُ عَلَى أَعْدَائِهِ، فَنَصَرَهُ اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِمْ ﴿وَرَبُّنَا الرَّحْمَنُ الْمُسْتَعَانُ عَلَى مَا تَصِفُونَ﴾ أَيْ: تَكْذِبُونَ.
