“And whoever honors the sacred things of God,” the interpretation of Mujahid is: The sacred things are Makkah, the Hajj, the Umrah, and everything God has forbidden of His acts of disobedience in their entirety. “And the grazing livestock have been made lawful for you, except what is recited to you” in Surah al-Ma'idah, and its interpretation has already passed. “So avoid the impurity of idols,” He says: Avoid the idols, for they are an impurity. “And avoid false speech,” meaning: polytheism (shirk). “Inclining toward God,” meaning: sincere.
﴿وَمن يعظم حرمات الله﴾ تَفْسِيرُ مُجَاهِدٍ: الْحُرُمَاتُ: مَكَّةُ وَالْحَجُّ وَالْعُمْرَةُ، وَمَا نَهَى اللَّهُ عَنْهُ مِنْ مَعَاصِيهِ كُلِّهَا ﴿وَأُحِلَّتْ لَكُمُ الأَنْعَامُ إِلا مَا يُتْلَى عَلَيْكُمْ﴾ فِي سُورَةِ الْمَائِدَةِ وَقَدْ مَضَى تَفْسِيره. ﴿فَاجْتَنبُوهُ الرجس من الْأَوْثَان﴾ يَقُولُ: اجْتَنِبُوا الْأَوْثَانَ؛ فَإِنَّهَا رِجْسٌ ﴿وَاجْتَنبُوا قَول الزُّور﴾ يَعْنِي: الشّرك ﴿حنفَاء لله﴾ أَي: مُخلصين.
