They welcomed me and prayed for my well-being. Then we were ascended until we reached the third heaven. Gabriel requested entry, and it was said: 'Who is this?' He said: 'Gabriel.' It was asked: 'And who is with you?' He said: 'Muhammad.' It was asked: 'Has he been called for?' He said: 'Yes.' They said: 'Welcome to him; a most excellent arrival.' So it was opened for us, and I was with Joseph, who had been given half of all beauty. He welcomed me and prayed for my well-being. Then we were ascended until we reached the fourth heaven. Gabriel requested entry, and it was said: 'Who is this?' He said: 'Gabriel.' It was asked: 'And who is with you?' He said: 'Muhammad.' It was asked: 'Has he been called [for]?' He said: 'Yes.' They said: 'Welcome to him; a most excellent arrival.' So it was opened for us, and I was with Idris, who welcomed me and prayed for my well-being. Then we were ascended until we reached the fifth heaven. Gabriel requested entry, and it was said: 'Who is this?' He said: 'Gabriel.' It was asked: 'And who is with you?' He said: 'Muhammad.' It was asked: 'Has he been called for?' He said: 'Yes.' They said: 'Welcome to him; a most excellent arrival.' So it was opened for us, and I was with Aaron, and his beard was divided into two parts: one part white and one part black. I said: 'Who is this, O Gabriel?' He said: 'This is the one beloved by his people, and the one with the most followers I have ever seen.' He welcomed me and prayed for my well-being. Then we were ascended until we reached the sixth heaven. Gabriel requested entry, and it was said: 'Who is this?' He said: 'Gabriel.' It was asked: 'And who is with you?' He said: 'Muhammad.' It was asked: 'Has he been called for?' He said: 'Yes.' They said: 'Welcome to him; a most excellent arrival.' So it was opened for us, and I was with Moses, who was a man with thick hair. I said: 'Who is this, O Gabriel?' He said: 'This is your brother, Moses.' He welcomed me and prayed for my well-being. I then proceeded and heard Moses saying: 'The Children of Israel claim that I am the most honored of creation to Allah, yet this one is more honored by Allah than I.' Then we were ascended until we reached the seventh heaven. Gabriel requested entry, and it was said: 'Who is this?' He said: 'Gabriel.' It was asked: 'And who is with you?'
فَرَحَّبَا بِي وَدَعَوْا لِي بِخَيْرٍ، ثُمَّ عُرِجَ بِنَا حَتَّى انْتَهَيْنَا إِلَى السَّمَاءِ الثَّالِثَةِ، فَاسْتَفْتَحَ جِبْرِيلُ، فَقِيلَ: مَنْ هَذَا؟ قَالَ: جِبْرِيلُ. قِيلَ: وَمِنْ مَعَكَ؟ قَالَ: مُحَمَّدٌ. قِيلَ: أَوَ قَدْ بُعِثَ إِلَيْهِ؟ قَالَ: نَعَمْ. قَالُوا: مَرْحَبًا بِهِ، وَلَنِعْمَ الْمَجِيءُ جَاءَ، فَفُتِحَ لَنَا؛ فَإِذَا أَنَا بِيُوسُفَ، وَإِذَا هُوَ قَدْ أُعْطِيَ شَطْرَ الْحُسْنِ. قَالَ: فَرَحَّبَ بِي وَدَعَا لِي بِخَيْرٍ، ثُمَّ عُرِجَ بِنَا حَتَّى انْتَهَيْنَا إِلَى السَّمَاءِ الرَّابِعَةِ، فَاسْتَفْتَحَ جِبْرِيلُ، فَقِيلَ: مَنْ هَذَا؟ قَالَ: جِبْرِيلُ. قِيلَ: وَمِنْ مَعَكَ؟ قَالَ: مُحَمَّدٌ. قِيلَ: أَوَ قَدْ بُعِثَ [إِلَيْهِ] قَالَ: نَعَمْ. قَالُوا: مَرْحَبًا بِهِ، وَلَنِعْمَ الْمَجِيءُ جَاءَ. فَفُتِحَ لَنَا؛ فَإِذَا أَنَا بِإِدْرِيسَ، فَرَحَّبِ بِي وَدَعَا لِي بِخَيْرٍ، ثُمَّ عُرِجَ بِنَا حَتَّى انْتَهَيْنَا إِلَى السَّمَاءِ الْخَامِسَةِ، فَاسْتَفْتَحَ جِبْرِيلُ، فَقِيلَ: مَنْ هَذَا؟ قَالَ: جِبْرِيلُ. قِيلَ: وَمِنْ مَعَكَ؟ قَالَ: مُحَمَّدٌ. قِيلَ: أَوَ قَدْ بُعِثَ إِلَيْهِ؟ قَالَ: نَعَمْ. قَالُوا: مَرْحَبًا بِهِ، وَلَنِعْمَ الْمَجِيءُ جَاءَ. فَفُتِحَ لَنَا، فَإِذَا أَنَا بِهَارُونَ وَإِذَا بِلِحْيَتِهِ شَطْرَانِ: شَطْرٌ أَبْيَضُ وَشَطْرٌ أَسْوَدُ، فَقُلْتُ: مَنْ هَذَا يَا جِبْرِيلُ؟ ﴿قَالَ: هَذَا الْمُحَبَّبُ فِي قَوْمِهِ، وَأَكْثَرُ مَنْ رَأَيْتُ تَبَعًا. قَالَ: فَرَحَّبَ بِي وَدَعَا لِي بِخَيْرٍ. قَالَ: ثُمَّ عُرِجَ بِنَا حَتَّى انْتَهَيْنَا إِلَى السَّمَاءِ السَّادِسَةِ، فَاسْتَفْتَحَ جِبْرِيلُ، فَقِيلَ: مَنْ هَذَا؟ قَالَ جِبْرِيلُ. قِيلَ: وَمِنْ مَعَكَ؟ قَالَ: مُحَمَّدٌ. قِيلَ: أَوَ قَدْ بُعِثَ إِلَيْهِ؟ قَالَ: نَعَمْ؟ قَالُوا: مَرْحَبًا بِهِ، وَلَنِعْمَ الْمَجِيءُ جَاءَ، فَفُتِحَ لَنَا؛ فَإِذَا أَنَا بِمُوسَى، وَإِذَا هُوَ رَجِلٌ أَشْعَرٌ. فَقُلْتُ: مَنْ هَذَا يَا جِبْرِيلُ؟﴾ قَالَ: هَذَا أَخُوكَ مُوسَى. قَالَ: فَرَحَّبَ بِي وَدَعَا لِي بِخَيْرٍ، قَالَ: فَمَضَيْتُ، فَسَمِعْتُ مُوسَى يَقُولُ: يَزْعُمُ بَنُو إِسْرَائِيلَ أَنِّي أَكْرَمُ الْخَلْقِ عَلَى اللَّهِ، وَهَذَا أَكْرَمُ عَلَى اللَّهِ مِنِّي. ثُمَّ عُرِجَ بِنَا حَتَّى انْتَهَيْنَا إِلَى السَّمَاءِ السَّابِعَةِ، فَاسْتَفْتَحَ جِبْرِيلُ، فَقِيلَ: مَنْ هَذَا؟ قَالَ: جِبْرِيلُ. قِيلَ: وَمِنْ مَعَكَ؟
