[He] said, 'My Lord, indeed I fear that they will deny me. And my breast tightens' and does not expand for the delivery of the message, so encourage me so that I may deliver it. 'And my tongue does not loosen' due to the knot that was in it. It is read in the nominative case (wa-yaḍīqu ṣadrī wa-lā yanṭaliqu lisānī) and in the accusative case (wa-an yaḍīqa ṣadrī wa-lā yanṭaliqa lisānī), meaning: I fear that they will deny me, and I fear that my breast will tighten.
﴿قَالَ رَبِّ إِنِّي أَخَافُ أَنْ يكذبُون ويضيق صَدْرِي﴾ وَلَا ينشرح يتبليغ الرِّسَالَةِ فَشَجِّعْنِي؛ حَتَّى أُبَلِّغَهَا. ﴿وَلا ينْطَلق لساني﴾ لِلْعُقْدَةِ الَّتِي كَانَتْ فِيهِ. يُقْرَأُ بِالرَّفْعِ: (وَيَضِيقُ صَدْرِي وَلا يَنْطَلِقُ لساني)، وَبِالنَّصْبِ: (وَيَضِيقَ صَدْرِي وَلَا يَنْطَلِقَ لِسَانِي) أَيْ: إِنِّي أَخَافُ أَنْ يُكَذِّبُونَ، وَأَخَافُ أَنْ يَضِيقَ صَدْرِي
