Allah says: "The Day they are tried [burned] in the Fire," meaning they are burned by it.
Muhammad [Ibn Abi Zamanin] says: "The Day" is in the accusative case (mansub) with the meaning: The recompense will occur "on the Day they are tried in the Fire."
قَالَ اللَّه: ﴿يَوْمَ هُمْ عَلَى النَّار يفتنون﴾ يحرقون بهَا.
قَالَ محمدٌ: (يَوْم) مَنْصُوب بِمَعْنى: يَقع الْجَزَاء ﴿يَوْمَ هُمْ عَلَى النَّارِ يُفْتَنُونَ﴾.
