"Then his wife approached with a commotion"—meaning a shout. "And she struck her face"—meaning her forehead. "And said, 'A barren old woman!'" She said that in astonishment; meaning: How can she give birth while she is an old woman?!
Muhammad said: "'Ajuz" (old woman) is in the nominative case, meaning: I am an old woman. It is said: The woman became 'aqumat (barren) by 'uqman and 'aqaman, so she is clearly 'aqum (barren), and a man may also be 'aqim (barren).
