[He] said: "By Allah, you almost ruined me," meaning: you almost cast me away from Allah.
Muhammad said: It is said: A man perished (radiya) if he met his end, and I caused him to perish (ardaytuhu) means: I destroyed him.
﴿قَالَ تَاللَّهِ إِنْ كِدْتَ لَتُرْدِينِ﴾ أَي: تباعدني من اللَّه.
قَالَ محمدٌ: يُقَال: رَدِيَ الرجُل يَرْدَى رَدًى؛ إِذا هلك، وأرْدَيتُه: أهلكته.
