the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him): "If a gharb (large bucket) from Hell were placed on the earth, its heat would scorch whatever is between the East and the West." Tammam said: The 'gharb' is the large bucket.
Muhammad said: 'Dhanub' in the language signifies a portion or a share, and its origin is the large bucket. They used to draw water, and each person would have a 'dhanub', so the term 'dhanub' was used to denote a portion and a share. Abu Dhu'ayb said:
(By your life, as fates are overcoming... every son of a father has a portion of them.)
His statement: "So let them not hasten Me," meaning: let them not hasten the punishment, for they used to hasten it out of mockery and denial.
