"Are we then not to die, except for our first death?" And it is nothing but one death, which was in the worldly life. "And we will not be punished?" It is an interrogation, and this is an interrogation of joy, as he has become secure from that. Then He said: "Indeed, this is the great success," the great salvation from the Fire to the Paradise.
Tafsir of Surah Al-Saffat, verses 61 to 74.
﴿أَفَمَا نَحْنُ بِمَيِّتِينَ إِلا مَوْتَتَنَا الأولى﴾ وَلَيْسَ هِيَ إِلَّا موتَة وَاحِدَة الَّتِي كَانَت فِي الدُّنْيَا ﴿وَمَا نَحن بمعذبين﴾ عَلَى الِاسْتِفْهَام، وَهَذَا اسْتِفْهَام عَلَى سرُور (ل ٢٨٨)، قد أَمن ذَلكَ، ثمَّ [قَالَ]: ﴿إِنَّ هَذَا لَهُوَ الْفَوْزُ الْعَظِيمُ﴾ النجَاة الْعَظِيمَة من النَّار إِلَى الْجنَّة.
