Muhammad said: You say, 'awraytu al-nar' (I ignited the fire) as 'i'ra'an' (an act of ignition). Another dialect is 'waraytuha' (I ignited it) as 'waryan' when you strike it to produce fire; and it is said 'warat' (it ignited) when it appears. Among their speech is: 'wariyat bika zanadi' (my fire-sticks ignited through you).
قَالَ محمدٌ: تَقول: أوْرَيْتُ النَّار إيراءً، ولغة أُخْرَى: وَرَيْتُها وَرْيًا إِذا قَدَحْتَها، وَوَرَتْ هِيَ إِذا ظهرتْ، وَمن كَلَامهم: وَرِيَتْ بك زنادي.
