{Indeed, those who oppose Allah} - meaning: those who show enmity toward Allah - {and His Messenger will be humbled} - disgraced - {just as those before them were humbled} - disgraced - {and We have certainly sent down verses of clear evidence} - the Qur'an.
﴿إِن الَّذين يحادون الله﴾ أَي: يعادون اللَّه ﴿وَرَسُولَهُ كُبِتُوا﴾ أخزوا ﴿كَمَا كبت﴾ أُخْزِي ﴿الَّذِينَ مِنْ قَبْلِهِمْ وَقَدْ أنزلنَا آيَات بَيِّنَات﴾ الْقُرْآن.
