{Private conversation is only from Satan} — the verse. Al-Kalbi’s interpretation is: When the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) would go on a military expedition or send out a detachment, the hypocrites would wink at one another when they saw a man and knew he had a loved one in the expedition. They would converse privately and look at him, and the man would say: 'This is nothing but something that has reached them regarding my loved one,' and he would remain in distress and sadness until his loved one returned. Thus, Allah revealed this verse.
