the companions of the Messenger of Allah by tearing them down. When they despaired of the help of the hypocrites—for the hypocrites had promised them that if the Prophet fought them, they would support them—and once they despaired of their support, they asked the Prophet of Allah for a peace settlement. He refused them unless they left Medina. So he made a peace settlement with them on the condition that he would exile them to al-Sham, and that every three households could carry on a camel whatever they wished of food and water, while whatever remained would belong to the Prophet of Allah and his companions. And they did so."
"So take warning," meaning: reflect, "O people of vision," meaning: people of intellect, and they are the believers.
أَصْحَاب رَسُول الله بنقضها، فَلَمَّا يَئسوا من نَصْرِ الْمُنَافِقين، وَذَلِكَ أَن الْمُنَافِقين كَانُوا وعدوهم إِن قَاتلهم النَّبِي أَن ينصروهم فَلَمَّا يئسوا من نَصرهم سَأَلُوا نَبِي الله الصُّلْح، فَأبى عَلَيْهِم إِلَّا أَن يخرجُوا من الْمَدِينَة، فَصَالحهُمْ على أَن يجليهم إِلَى الشَّام على أنّ لَهُم أَن يحمل أهْلُ كل ثَلَاثَة أَبْيَات على بعير مَا شَاءُوا من طَعَام وسقاء، ولنبي الله وَأَصْحَابه مَا فضل فَفَعَلُوا ".
﴿فَاعْتَبِرُوا﴾ فتفكروا ﴿يَا أولي الْأَبْصَار﴾ يَعْنِي: الْعُقُول وهم الْمُؤْمِنُونَ
