{The King, The Holy,} meaning: the Pure. {The Peace,} the creation is safe from His oppression. {The Faithful (al-Mu'min),} al-Hasan's interpretation: He who believes in Himself before the belief of His creation, as in His saying: {Allah witnesses that there is no god but He} [the verse]. {The Overseer (al-Muhaymin),} the interpretation of some: the Witness over His creation.
﴿الْملك القدوس﴾ يَعْنِي: الطَّاهِر ﴿السَّلَام﴾ سلِمَ الْخَلَائق من ظلمه ﴿الْمُؤْمِنُ﴾ تَفْسِير الْحسن: الْمُؤمن بِنَفسِهِ قبل إِيمَان خَلْقه كَقَوْلِه: ﴿شَهِدَ اللَّهُ أَنَّهُ لَا إِلَهَ إِلا هُوَ﴾ الْآيَة ﴿الْمُهَيْمِن﴾ تَفْسِير بَعضهم: الشَّهِيد على خلقه
