and rubies, within which are his spouses and his servants."
Yahya: From a companion of his, from Juwaybir, from al-Dahhak ibn Muzahim, from al-Harith, from 'Ali: "When a man enters Paradise, joy overwhelms his wife, so she emerges from the tent to welcome him. She says: 'You are my beloved and I am your beloved. We are the satisfied ones who shall never be displeased, we are the refined ones who shall never suffer, we are the eternal ones who shall never die, and we are the resident ones who shall never depart. You are my beloved and I am your beloved.' She then leads him into a house whose foundation to its ceiling is one hundred thousand cubits, built upon blocks of pearls and rubies in stripes of red, green, and yellow, with no single stripe resembling another. When they raise their eyes to the ceiling of their houses, if it were not that Allah had decreed that their vision would not perish (f. 362), it would have vanished due to the light and radiance they see upon the ceilings of their houses."
