Allah says: "But they disbelieved in it," meaning: the Quran; [intending: in what Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) brought]. "But soon they will know," [as a threat].
Muhammad says: Qutrub mentioned that some of the reciters read (mukhlisīn) [sincere ones] wherever it occurs in the Quran with the kasrah (the 'i' vowel) under the lam. He said: And some of them read everything in the Quran as (mukhlashīn) [those made sincere], such as "Indeed, he was sincere," all of that with the fathah (the 'a' vowel), except for "sincere to Him in [their] religion" wherever it [occurs], for it is read with the kasrah.
