prostrating before that which I have created with My hands?' Qatada said: Ka'b said, 'Indeed, Allah did not create anything with His hand except for three things: He created Adam with His hand, He wrote the Torah with His hand, and He planted the Garden [of Paradise] with His hand.'
'Are you arrogant?' means: have you become haughty?
Muhammad said: The preferred reading for (astakbarta) is with the alif opened, indicating an interrogative form.
تَسْجُدَ لِمَا خَلَقْتُ بِيَدَيَّ﴾ قَالَ قَتَادَةُ: إِنَّ كَعْبًا قَالَ: إِنَّ اللَّهَ لَمْ يَخْلُقْ بِيَدِهِ إِلَّا ثَلَاثَة: خلق آدم بِيَدِهِ , وَكَتَبَ التَّوْرَاةَ بِيَدِهِ , وَغَرَسَ الْجَنَّةَ بِيَدِهِ ﴿أَسْتَكْبَرْتَ﴾ يَعْنِي: تكبّرت.
قَالَ محمدٌ: الِاخْتِيَار فِي الْقِرَاءَة (أستكبرت) بِفَتْح الْألف على الِاسْتِفْهَام.
