"Is Allah not sufficient for His servant?"—meaning: Muhammad; He suffices him against the polytheists so that they cannot reach him. "And they threaten you with those other than Him"—meaning: the idols.

﴿أَلَيْسَ الله بكاف عَبده﴾ يَعْنِي: مُحَمَّدًا؛ يَكْفِيهِ الْمُشْركين حَتَّى لَا يصلُوا إِلَيْهِ ﴿وَيُخَوِّفُونَكَ بِالَّذِينَ من دونه﴾ يَعْنِي: الْأَوْثَان.
