"And on the Day of Resurrection you will see those who lied about Allah, their faces blackened."
Muhammad said: "Their faces blackened" is in the nominative case (marfu') as an initial subject (mubtada'), and the verb did not govern it, and the predicate is "Is there not in Hell a dwelling for the arrogant?"—meaning, those who are arrogant toward the worship of Allah. Yes, they have therein a dwelling; they shall dwell therein forever.
﴿وَيَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ تَرَى الَّذِينَ كَذَبُوا على الله وُجُوههم مسودة﴾.
[قَالَ مُحَمَّد: ﴿وُجُوههم مسودة﴾ رفع عَلَى الِابْتِدَاء , وَلم يعْمل الْفِعْل وَالْخَبَر ﴿أَلَيْسَ فِي جَهَنَّمَ مثوى للمتكبرين﴾ (ل ٣٠١) عَن عبَادَة اللَّه بلَى لَهُم فِيهَا مثوى يثوون فِيهَا أبدا.
