'There is no friend for the wrongdoers,' meaning the polytheists, 'nor an intercessor who is obeyed,' meaning: no one shall intercede for them; intercession is only for the believers.
﴿مَا للظالمين﴾ للْمُشْرِكين ﴿من حميم﴾ أَي: شفيق يحمل عَنْهُمْ من ذنوبهم شَيْئا ﴿وَلا شَفِيعٍ يُطَاعُ﴾ أَي: لَا يشفع لَهُم أحدٌ؛ إِنَّمَا الشَّفَاعَة للْمُؤْمِنين
