"Manifest in the land," meaning: victorious over the land of Egypt in subjugating them. "Then who would protect us," meaning: defend us, "from the punishment of Allah," meaning: His torment, "if it should come to us?" He says this in the form of a question, meaning: that no one can protect us from it.
"Pharaoh said, 'I do not show you except what I see,'" meaning: what I see for myself, "'and I do not guide you except to the path of right conduct,'" meaning: the rejection of what Moses brought and adherence to what they are upon.
﴿ظَاهِرين فِي الأَرْض﴾ يَعْنِي: غَالِبين عَلَى أَرض مصر فِي الْقَهْر لَهُم ﴿فَمَنْ يَنْصُرُنَا﴾ يمنعنا ﴿من بَأْس الله﴾ عَذَابه ﴿إِن جَاءَنَا﴾ يَقُوله عَلَى الِاسْتِفْهَام - أَي: أَنَّهُ لَا يمنعنا مِنْهُ أحد.
﴿قَالَ فِرْعَوْنُ مَا أُرِيكُمْ إِلا مَا أرى﴾ أَي: مَا أرى لنَفْسي ﴿وَمَا أهديكم إِلَّا سَبِيل الرشاد﴾ يَعْنِي: جحود مَا جَاءَ بِهِ مُوسَى والتمسُّك بِمَا هُمْ عَلَيْهِ.
