"There is no doubt that that to which you invite me"—that I should worship it—"has no invocation in the world or in the Hereafter." That is: it does not answer whoever calls upon it in this world, nor does it benefit him in the Hereafter.
Muhammad said: The interpretation of "there is no doubt" (la jarama) has already passed.
"And that the excessive"—meaning the polytheists—"are the companions of the Fire."
