"It is He who created you from dust"—meaning: He created Adam—"then from a drop of fluid"—the descendants of Adam—"then so that you may reach your maturity"—the attainment of puberty—"then so that you may be old"—meaning: whoever reaches the age of being an elder—"and among you is he who is taken in death"—before he becomes an elder—"and so that you may reach a specified term"—death—"and so that you may use reason"—in order that you may exercise reason.
﴿هُوَ الَّذِي خَلَقَكُمْ مِنْ تُرَابٍ﴾ يَعْنِي: خلق آدم ﴿ثُمَّ مِنْ نُطْفَة﴾ نسل آدم ﴿ثُمَّ لِتَبْلُغُوا أَشُدَّكُمْ﴾ الِاحْتِلَام ﴿ثمَّ لِتَكُونُوا شُيُوخًا﴾ يَعْنِي: من يبلغ حَتَّى يكون شَيخا ﴿وَمِنْكُمْ مَنْ يُتَوَفَّى﴾ مِنْ قَبْلُ أَن يكون شَيخا ﴿وَلِتَبْلُغُوا أَجَلا مُسَمّى﴾ الْمَوْت ﴿ولعلكم تعقلون﴾ لكَي تعقلوا.
