"And of His signs are the ships" - [meaning] the ships - "in the sea like mountains" - [meaning] like mountains. Muhammad said: Ibn Mujahid mentioned that Nafi' recited 'al-jawari' with a ya' during continuation and without a ya' when pausing.
﴿وَمِنْ آيَاتِهِ الْجَوَارِ﴾ السفن ﴿فِي الْبَحْرِ كَالأَعْلَامِ﴾ كالجبال. قَالَ محمدٌ: ذكر ابْن مُجَاهِد أَن نَافِعًا قَرَأَ ﴿الْجَوَارِي﴾ بياء فِي الْوَصْل وَبِغير يَاء فِي الْوَقْف.
