"[Until he comes to Us]", meaning: he and his companion, his devil. "[He says, 'Oh, I wish that between me and you there was the distance of the two easts - how wretched a companion.']"
Yahya narrated from Abu al-Ashhab, from Abu Mas'ud al-Jurayri, who said: "Indeed, when the disbeliever emerges from his grave, he finds his devil at his head. He takes his hand and says: 'I am your companion until I and you enter Hell.'"
Muhammad said: At that moment, he says: "Oh, I wish that between me and you there was the distance of the two easts - how wretched a companion!"
Muhammad said: It was said that the meaning of 'the two easts' here is the east and the west, just as they said: 'The two Umars,' referring to Abu Bakr and Umar. An example of this in poetry is: (We have its two moons and the rising stars...)",
