"They shall be served with dishes of gold." Seventy thousand servants shall attend the one among them with the lowest station, with seventy thousand dishes of gold, with which he shall be provided at dawn. In each one of them is a color of food not found in its counterpart. He shall eat from its end just as he eats from its beginning, and he shall find the taste of its end just as he finds the taste of its beginning, with none resembling the other. And he shall be provided with the like thereof at dusk. And there shall attend the one among them of the highest station every day seven hundred thousand servants, each servant with seven hundred thousand dishes of gold, in which is a color of food not found in its counterpart; he shall eat from its end just as he eats from its beginning, and he shall find the taste of its end just as he finds the taste of its beginning, with none resembling the other. He said: "And cups," meaning: and they shall be served with cups. Qatada said: The cup (kub) is that which is round, short-necked, and short-handled, while the ewer (ibriq) is long-necked and long-handled. "And therein is that which the souls desire," meaning: whatever has occurred to their minds, it shall come to them without them having to
