Resurrection," meaning: their idols. "And they are, of their invocation, unaware," meaning: the idols are unaware of the invocation of those who worship them.
Muhammad said: He used "man" (who), which is for that which does not possess intelligence, because those who worshipped them treated them as though they were beings that possess discernment; thus, they were addressed in the manner they addressed them, just as they said: "We do not worship them except that they may bring us nearer to Allah in position."

الْقِيَامَةِ﴾ يَعْنِي: أوثانهم ﴿وَهُمْ عَن دُعَائِهِمْ غَافِلُونَ﴾ يَعْنِي: الْأَوْثَان عَن دُعَاء من عَبدهَا غافلون.
قَالَ محمدٌ: قَالَ (من) وَهُو لغير مَا يعقل؛ لِأَن الَّذين عبدوها أجروها مجْرى مَا يُمَيّز، فَخُوطِبُوا على مخاطبتهم؛ كَمَا قَالُوا: ﴿مَا نَعْبُدُهُمْ إِلا لِيُقَرِّبُونَا إِلَى الله زلفى﴾.
