'Say, I am not something original among the messengers'—meaning: I was not the first of them; there were messengers before me. 'And I do not know what will be done with me or with you.' Al-Kalbi's interpretation: The Prophet said: 'I saw in my dream a land to which I would emigrate from Mecca. When the tribulation intensified for his companions in Mecca, they said: O Prophet of Allah, how long will we endure this tribulation, and when will we go out to the land which you were shown? The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: I do not know what will be done with me or with you; will we die in Mecca or will we go out from it?'
'I only follow what is revealed to me.'
﴿قُلْ مَا كُنتُ بِدْعًا مِّنْ الرُّسُلِ﴾ أَي: مَا كنت أَوَّلهمْ؛ قد كَانَت الرُّسُل قبلي ﴿وَمَا أَدْرِي مَا يُفْعَلُ بِي وَلَا بِكُمْ﴾ تَفْسِير الْكَلْبِيّ: إِن النَّبِي قَالَ: " لقد رَأَيْت فِي مَنَامِي أَرضًا أَخْرجُ إِلَيْهَا من مَكَّة. فَلَمَّا اشْتَدَّ البلاءُ على أَصْحَابه بِمَكَّة قَالُوا: يَا نَبِي اللَّه، حَتَّى مَتى نلقى هَذَا الْبلَاء، وَمَتى نخرج إِلَى الأَرْض حَتَّى أُرِيتَ؟! فَقَالَ رَسُول الله ﷺ: مَا أَدْرِي مَا يُفْعَلُ بِي وَلا بِكُمْ، أنموت بِمَكَّة أم نخرجُ مِنْهَا؟ ".
﴿إِنْ أَتَّبِعُ إِلَا مَا يُوحَى إِلَيَّ﴾
