Allah said: "And if they had been patient until you came out to them, it would have been better for them." The interpretation of al-Hasan: "And if they had been patient until you came out to them"; had they honored you and revered you, it would have been better for them.
Interpretation of Surah al-Hujurat from verse 6 to verse 8.
قَالَ اللَّه: ﴿وَلَوْ أَنَّهُمْ صَبَرُوا حَتَّى تَخْرُجَ إِلَيْهِمْ لَكَانَ خَيْرًا لَهُم﴾ تَفْسِير الْحسن: وَلَو أَنهم صَبَرُوا حَتَّى تخرج إِلَيْهِم؛ فعظموك ووقروك، لَكَانَ لَهُم خيرا.
