Allah says: "We already know what the earth diminishes of them"—meaning what the earth consumes of them when they die; it consumes everything except the coccyx. "And with Us is a preserved record"—the interpretation of some of them says: it is the Preserved Tablet (al-Lawh al-Mahfuz).
قَالَ اللَّه: ﴿قَدْ عَلِمْنَا مَا تنقص الأَرْض مِنْهُم﴾ مَا تَأْكُل الأَرْض مِنْهُم إِذا مَاتُوا، تَأْكُل كل شيءٍ إِلَّا عَجْبَ الذَّنَب ﴿وَعِنْدَنَا كِتَابٌ حَفِيظٌ﴾ تَفْسِير بَعضهم: يَقُول: هُوَ اللَّوْح الْمَحْفُوظ
