"And We have already created the heavens and the earth and what is between them in six days," and a day of them is a thousand years, "and no weariness touched Us," meaning fatigue. That is because the Jews—the enemies of Allah—said: When Allah finished creating the heavens and the earth, He became exhausted, so He reclined and placed one of His legs upon the other to rest. So Allah revealed: "And We have already created the heavens and the earth" up to the end of the verse, [meaning it is] not as the Jews claimed.
Muhammad said: The better [reading] in terms of recitation is "lughub" with a damma on the lam. It is said [in verb form]: laghaba—
