تفسير القرآن العزيز لابن أبي زمنين
مجلد 5 · صفحة 130٢٥

الترجمة · EN

And if a man was a leader in evil, inviting others to it and commanding it, such that his followers increased because of him, he shall be called by his name and the name of his father. He will then be brought forward for his reckoning, and a black book will be produced for him, written in black ink, containing his good deeds on the inside and his evil deeds on the outside. He will begin with the good deeds, reading them and feeling joyful, thinking that he will be saved. But when he reaches the end of the book, he will find in it: "These are your good deeds, and they have been returned to you [as rejected]." His face will turn black, grief will overwhelm him, and he will despair of any good. Then, he will turn his book over to read his evil deeds, and he will only increase in grief and his face will only increase in blackness. When he reaches the end of the book, he will find in it: "These are your evil deeds, and they have been multiplied against you." This means the punishment is multiplied upon him; it does not mean that he is burdened with that which he did not do.
