He also set forth for them a similitude for those who believe: the wife of Pharaoh and Mary. He commands them both to adhere to the obedience of Allah and the obedience of His Messenger. This is His saying: "And Allah has set forth an example for those who believe: the wife of Pharaoh, when she said: 'My Lord, build for me near You a house in Paradise and save me from Pharaoh and his deeds.'" She was asking for steadfastness upon faith. Thus, the wife of Pharaoh and her status with Allah did not avail Pharaoh against Allah at all, since he was a disbeliever.
