"So leave them to indulge" in their disbelief, "and play," for the proof has been established against them, "until they meet their Day which they are promised," meaning: the Day of Resurrection. Then, He commanded that they be fought.
﴿فذرهم يخوضوا﴾ فِي كفرهم ﴿ويلعبوا﴾ فَقَدْ قَامَتْ عَلَيْهِمُ الْحُجَّةُ ﴿حَتَّى يلاقوا يومهم الَّذِي يوعدون﴾ يَعْنِي: يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ، ثُمَّ أَمَرَ بقتالهم.
