"So wait patiently for the command of your Lord"—for what He has ordained upon you therein and enjoined—"and do not obey any sinner among them," meaning the hypocrite; according to the interpretation of al-Hasan, one who manifests Islam while his heart is upon polytheism, "or an ungrateful disbeliever," meaning the polytheist who rejects the truth.
Interpretation of Surah al-Insan from verse (25-31)
﴿فاصبر لحكم رَبك﴾ لِمَا حَكَمَ عَلَيْكَ فِيهِ وَفَرَضَ ﴿وَلَا تُطِع مِنْهُم آثِما﴾ وَهُوَ الْمُنَافِقُ؛ فِي تَفْسِيرِ الْحَسَنِ أَظْهَرَ الإِسْلامَ وَقَلْبُهُ عَلَى الشِّرْكِ ﴿أَو كفورا﴾ وَهُوَ الْمُشرك الجاحد.
