"O mankind, what has deceived you concerning your Lord, the Generous?" Umar ibn al-Khattab read this verse, "O mankind, what has deceived you concerning your Lord, the Generous?" and said: His stupidity and ignorance have deceived him.
﴿يَا أَيهَا الإِنْسَانُ مَا غَرَّكَ بِرَبِّكَ الْكَرِيمِ﴾ قَرَأَ عُمَرُ بْنُ الْخَطَّابِ هَذِهِ الْآيَة ﴿يَا أَيهَا الإِنْسَانُ مَا غَرَّكَ بِرَبِّكَ الْكَرِيمِ﴾ فَقَالَ: غَرَّهُ حُمْقُهُ وَجَهْلُهُ.
