"So this Day those who believe laugh at the disbelievers." Al-Hasan's interpretation: By Allah, this is the noble victory with which Allah has favored the believers over the polytheists in the Hereafter. They shall laugh at them while they are reclining on their thrones, observing how they are being punished, just as the disbelievers used to laugh at them in the world, and Paradise is in the heaven.
Al-Hasan said: The Messenger of Allah [ﷺ] said: "The mockers will be brought on the Day of Resurrection, and a gate to Paradise will be opened for them. It will be said to them: 'Enter.' But when they come to it, it will be closed against them, so they will turn back. Then they will be called again, and when they come to it, it will be closed against them, so they will turn back. Then they will be called to enter, and when they come to it, it will be closed."
﴿فَالْيَوْمَ الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا مِنَ الْكُفَّارِ يَضْحَكُونَ﴾ تَفْسِيرُ الْحَسَنِ: هَذِهِ وَاللَّهِ الدَّوْلَةُ الْكَرِيمَةُ الَّتِي أَدَالَ اللَّهُ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ عَلَى الْمُشْرِكِينَ فِي الْآخِرَةِ، فَهُمْ يَضْحَكُونَ مِنْهُمْ، وَهُمْ مُتَّكِئُونَ عَلَى فُرُشِهِمْ يَنْظُرُونَ كَيْفَ يُعَذَّبُونَ، كَمَا كَانَ الْكُفَّارُ يَضْحَكُونَ مِنْهُمْ فِي الدُّنْيَا وَالْجَنَّةُ فِي السَّمَاءِ.
قَالَ الْحَسَنُ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ [ﷺ]: " يجاء بالمستهزئين يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ فَيُفْتَحُ لَهُمْ بَابٌ إِلَى الْجَنَّةِ، فَيُقَالُ لَهُمْ: ادْخُلُوا، فَإِذَا جَاءُوا أُغْلِقَ دُونَهُمْ فَيَرْجِعُونَ، ثُمَّ يُدْعَوْنَ فَإِذَا جَاءُوا أُغْلِقَ دُونَهُمْ فَيَرْجِعُونَ، فَيُدْعَوْنَ لِيَدْخُلُوا فَإِذَا جَاءُوا أُغْلِقَ
