"And raising dust therewith"—they stir up dust with their hooves; according to the interpretation of Al-Hasan.
Muhammad said: Naq' (dust) in the language literally means dust (ghubar). He said: "Therewith (bihi)," and no location had been mentioned previously, as the discourse contains evidence pointing to it.
﴿فأثرن بِهِ نقعا﴾ تُثِيرُ التُّرَابَ بِحَوَافِرِهَا؛ فِي تَفْسِيرِ الْحسن.
قَالَ مُحَمَّد: النَّقْع: حَقِيقَة فِي اللُّغَةِ الْغُبَارُ. وَقَالَ: (بِهِ) وَلَمْ يَتَقَدَّمْ ذِكْرُ الْمَكَانِ؛ إِذْ فِي الْكَلَام دَلِيل عَلَيْهِ.
