720 - Abu Zur'ah narrated to us, Abu al-Rabi' al-Zahrani narrated to us, Muslim ibn Qutaybah narrated to us, 'Abd al-Rahman ibn Qays, the freedman of Yazid ibn al-Muhallab, narrated to us; he said: I heard Yahya ibn Ya'mur reading: "Indeed, the cows (al-baqir) appear similar to us." He said: "Al-baqir is more than al-baqar."
His saying: "Appear similar to us"
721 - It was read to al-Fadl ibn Shadhan, Suhayl ibn 'Abd Allah narrated to us, Qays ibn Nasr narrated to us, from 'Isa ibn 'Umar, from Talhah ibn Musarrif, regarding His saying: "Appear similar to us"—[meaning] their slaughterers.
His saying: "And indeed we, if Allah wills, will be guided"
722 - Ahmad ibn Yahya al-Awdi al-Sufi narrated to us, Abu Sa'id Ahmad ibn Dawud al-Haddad narrated to us, Surur ibn al-Mughirah al-Wasiti, the nephew of Mansur ibn Zadhan, narrated to us, from 'Abbad ibn Mansur, from al-Hasan, from Abu Rafi', from Abu Hurayrah, who said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "Had the Children of Israel not made an exception, saying: 'And indeed we, if Allah wills, will be guided,' they would not have been granted [what they asked for], but they did make an exception."
His saying: "He says, 'Indeed, it is a cow, neither trained'"
[First Aspect]
723 - al-Hasan ibn Muhammad ibn al-Sabah narrated to us, Hajjaj ibn Muhammad narrated to us, from Ibn Jurayj, from al-A'raj, from Mujahid, regarding "neither trained to till the earth": He says, it is not trained to do that [act of plowing].
724 - 'Isam ibn Rawwad narrated to us, Adam narrated to us, Abu Ja'far al-Razi narrated to us, from al-Rabi' ibn Anas, from Abu al-'Aliyah: "Neither trained," he says: Labor has not tamed it.
725 - Abu 'Abd Allah al-Tehrani informed me in what he wrote to me, Isma'il ibn 'Abd al-Karim reported to us, from 'Abd al-Samad ibn Ma'qil, that he heard Wahb saying: "And it is neither trained nor difficult."
726 - 'Isam ibn Rawwad narrated to us, Adam narrated to us, Abu Shaybah—meaning Shu'ayb ibn Zurayq—narrated to us, from 'Ata' al-Khurasani, regarding His saying: "Neither trained to till the earth": He said: The cow was not trained to be plowed with, nor was water drawn with it for watering the crops.
Second Aspect:
727 - Muhammad ibn 'Ubayd Allah ibn al-Munadi narrated to us in what he wrote to me, Yunus ibn Muhammad al-Mu'addib narrated to us, Shayban al-Nahwi narrated to us, from Qatadah: His saying: "Neither trained," he said: meaning difficult; he says, labor has not tamed it.
