[His saying: "And it is the truth"]
923 - My father narrated to us, Sahl ibn 'Uthman narrated to us, Ibn al-Sammak narrated to us, from Abu Bakr, from al-Hasan regarding His saying: "The truth," he said: The entire Qur'an.
His saying: "Say, 'Then why did you kill the prophets of Allah before, if you were believers?'"
924 - Abu Zur'ah narrated to us, 'Amr ibn Hammad narrated to us, Asbat narrated to us, from al-Suddi regarding "And it is the truth, confirming what is with them," then Allah said while reproaching them: "Say, 'Then why did you kill the prophets of Allah before, if you were believers?'"
His saying: "If you were believers."
925 - Mahmud ibn Adam al-Marwudhi narrated to us in what he wrote to me, he said: I heard al-Nadr ibn Shumayl saying: The interpretation of "a believer" is that he is secure [amin] from the punishment of Allah, the Mighty and Majestic.
926 - Muhammad ibn al-'Abbas narrated to us, Muhammad ibn 'Amr Junayj narrated to us, Salamah narrated to us, he said: Muhammad ibn Ishaq said: "If you were believers," [meaning] if you had truly believed in My prophet regarding what he brought to you from Me.
His saying: "And certainly Moses came to you with clear proofs, then you took the calf [for worship] after him, while you were wrongdoers."
927 - My father narrated to us, al-Nufayli narrated to us, Yunus ibn Rashid narrated to us, from Khusayf, from 'Ikrimah, from Ibn 'Abbas regarding His saying: "With clear proofs," he said: It is the flood, the locusts, the lice, the frogs, the blood, the staff, the hand, and the decrease of fruits and years [drought].
928 - Muhammad ibn Yahya Abu Ghassan narrated to us, Salamah narrated to us, he said: Muhammad ibn Ishaq said, Muhammad ibn Abi Muhammad narrated to me, from 'Ikrimah, or Sa'id ibn Jubayr, from Ibn 'Abbas: Then He informed them of the raising of the Mount [al-Tur] over them and the taking of the calf as a god besides their Lord.
His saying: "While you were wrongdoers."
929 - Muhammad ibn al-'Abbas, the freed slave of Banu Hashim, narrated to us, Junayj narrated to us, Salamah narrated to us, he said: Muhammad ibn Ishaq said: Meaning His saying: "While you were wrongdoers," i.e., the hypocrites who manifest obedience with their tongues while their hearts persist in disobedience.

حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي ثنا سَهْلُ بْنُ عُثْمَانَ ثنا ابْنُ السَّمَّاكِ عَنْ أَبِي بَكْرٍ عَنِ الْحَسَنِ قَوْلِهِ الْحَقُّ قَالَ: الْقُرْآنُ كُلُّهُ.
قَوْلُهُ: قُلْ فَلِمَ تَقْتُلُونَ أَنْبِيَاءَ اللَّهِ مِنْ قَبْلُ إِنْ كُنْتُمْ مُؤْمِنِينَ

حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو زُرْعَةَ ثنا عَمْرُو بْنُ حَمَّادٍ ثنا أَسْبَاطٌ عَنِ السُّدِّيِّ وَهُوَ الْحَقُّ مُصَدِّقًا لِمَا مَعَهُمْ فَقَالَ اللَّهُ وَهُوَ يُعَيِّرُهُمْ: قُلْ فَلِمَ تَقْتُلُونَ أَنْبِيَاءَ اللَّهِ مِنْ قَبْلُ إِنْ كُنْتُمْ مُؤْمِنِينَ
قوله: إِنْ كُنْتُمْ مُؤْمِنِينَ
٩٢٥ - حَدَّثَنَا مَحْمُودُ بْنُ آدَمَ الْمَرُّوذِيُّ فِيمَا كَتَبَ إِلَيَّ قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ النَّضْرَ بْنَ شُمَيْلٍ يَقُولُ: تَفْسِيرُ الْمُؤْمِنِ أَنَّهُ آمِنٌ مِنْ عَذَابِ اللَّهِ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ.
٩٢٦ - حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْعَبَّاسِ ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَمْرٍو زُنَيْجٌ ثنا سَلَمَةُ قَالَ: قَالَ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ إِنْ كُنْتُمْ مُؤْمِنِينَ إِنْ كُنْتُمْ صَدَّقْتُمْ نَبِيِّي بِمَا جَاءَكُمْ بِهِ عَنِّي
قَوْلُهُ: وَلَقَدْ جَاءَكُمْ مُوسَى بِالْبَيِّنَاتِ ثُمَّ اتَّخَذْتُمُ الْعِجْلَ مِنْ بَعْدِهِ وَأَنْتُمْ ظَالِمُونَ
٩٢٧ - حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي ثنا النُّفَيْلِيُّ ثنا يُونُسُ بْنُ رَاشِدٍ عَنْ خُصَيْفٍ عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ قَوْلُهُ: بالبينات قَالَ: هُوَ الطُّوفَانُ وَالْجَرَادُ وَالْقُمَّلُ وَالضَّفَادِعُ وَالدَّمُ وَالْعَصَا وَالْيَدُ وَنَقَصٌ مِنَ الثَّمَرَاتِ وَالسِّنِينَ.
٩٢٨ - حَدَّثَنَا محمد بن نحيى أَبُو غَسَّانَ ثنا سَلَمَةُ قَالَ: قَالَ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ حَدَّثَنِي مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ أَبِي مُحَمَّدٍ عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ، أَوْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ جُبَيْرٍ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ ثُمَّ أَنْبَأَهُمْ رَفْعَ الطُّورِ عَلَيْهِمْ وَاتِّخَاذَ الْعِجْلِ إِلَهًا دُونِ رَبِّهِمْ.
قَوْلُهُ: وَأَنْتُمْ ظَالِمُونَ
٩٢٩ - حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْعَبَّاسِ مَوْلَى بَنِي هَاشِمٍ ثنا زُنَيْجٌ ثنا سَلَمَةُ قَالَ: قَالَ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ: يَعْنِي قَوْلَهُ: وَأَنْتُمْ ظَالِمُونَ أَيِ الْمُنَافِقِينَ الَّذِينَ يُظْهِرُونَ بِأَلْسِنَتِهِمُ الطَّاعَةَ وَقُلُوبُهُمْ مُصِرَّةٌ عَلَى الْمَعْصِيَةِ.
