He says: Do not be in doubt regarding that, for it is your Qiblah and the Qiblah of the Prophets before you.
His saying: "For each is a direction to which he turns."
[The First Interpretation]
1374 - Muhammad ibn Sa'd al-'Awfi reported to me in what he wrote to me, my father narrated to me, my uncle narrated to us, from his father, from his grandfather, from Ibn 'Abbas: "For each is a direction to which he turns," meaning thereby: the people of [various] religions. He says: To each is a Qiblah which they are pleased with. And the direction of Allah is wherever the believers turn.
1375 - 'Isam ibn Rawwad narrated to us, Adam narrated to us, Abu Ja'far narrated to us, from al-Rabi', from Abu al-'Aliyah: "For each is a direction to which he turns." He said: For the Jew, there is a direction to which he turns. And for the Christian, there is a direction to which he turns. And Allah has guided you, O this Nation, to the Qiblah which is the true Qiblah. It was also narrated from Mujahid in one of his two opinions, and al-Dahhak, 'Ata', al-Suddi, and al-Rabi' [narrated] similar to that.
