1384 - Abu Sa'id al-Ashajj narrated to us, ibn al-Hubab narrated to us, from Abu Sinan, from al-Dahhak, regarding His saying: "Wherever you may be, Allah will bring you forth together," he said: The righteous and the wicked.

His saying: "Indeed, Allah is over all things competent."

Its interpretation has already preceded.

His saying: "And from wherever you go out, turn your face toward al-Masjid al-Haram, and wherever you [believers] may be, turn your faces toward it."

1385 - al-Hasan ibn Ahmad narrated to us, Ibrahim ibn 'Abd Allah ibn Bashshar narrated to us, Surur ibn al-Mughirah narrated to me, from 'Abbad ibn Mansur, from al-Hasan, regarding His saying: "Turn your faces toward it," [saying it is] so that the oppressors may not have an argument against you.

1386 - My father narrated to us, Abu Nu'aym narrated to us, Sa'id ibn Sinan narrated to us, meaning: Sinan al-Shaybani reported to us, from al-Dahhak, regarding: "And wherever you [believers] may be, turn your faces toward it," he said: Everything is a Qiblah.

His saying: "So that there will be no argument for the people against you."

1387 - 'Isam ibn Rawwad narrated to us, Adam narrated to us, Abu Ja'far narrated to us, from al-Rabi', from Abu al-'Aliyah: "So that there will be no argument for the people against you," meaning by this: The People of the Scripture when they said: "Muhammad, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, has been turned toward the Ka'bah." They said: "The man has longed for the house of his father and the religion of his people." Their argument against the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, upon his turning toward the Sacred House was that they said: "He will return to our religion just as he returned to our Qiblah."

It was [also] narrated from Mujahid, 'Ata', al-Suddi, Qatadah, al-Rabi' ibn Anas, and al-Dahhak that they said: "You have returned to our Qiblah."
